RIC, this is for you!?

Lemuel said...: I love Don MacLean! I think he was vastly underrated as a song writer and as a performer. Yes, he is known for American Pie, but he did so many other great songs. Stary, Stary Night was just one of them - and if you are familiar with the van Gogh painting, MacLean is "painting" a beautiful song picture of it as well as capturing the essence of van Gogh and his life.

That girl in my blogroll, Karla (she's the daughter of a friend of mine), told me I should get the YouTube video. I said no, because my main purpose was to make people focus both on van Gogh's painting and on the poem/lyrics. I guess I've achieved that goal... I'm so glad you liked it and went searching for the song. It's a beautiful surprise indeed to open your blog and to see Don McLean's face... Most touching...
