Outgames Outdid Chicago!?
According to a local publication called Le Métro, athletes prefer the Outgames to the Chicago Gay Games.
The warm welcome from organizers, the city and the people.
The ambiance is just amazing, some say.
The quality of the establishments is equaled by none.
In Chicago, 70% of the 11,000 participants were Americans.
Apparently they called it the American Gay Games.
They say it feels more like real Olympics,
a melting pot because more countries are represented.
Only 3000 athletes are Canadians out of the 12,000 participants.

Proud Canadian!?
This just in!?
More than 100 countries are represented in the Outgames
– a first for a LGBT sporting event.
The Outgames will also be the first
LGBT event to which participants from
Southern Hemisphere countries will be
coming in significant numbers.

I can't see how Chicago could have put on a better event. I've never seen the city so decked out.
Yesterday, I saw guys walking around with advertising televisions coming out of their backpacks.
Have you checked out the site at Viger square? Pretty spiffy.
Tonight we are going to the Queer Comics show at Club Soda. I hope to share a couple of oneliners tomorrow.
Excellent news, Joel! Thank you very much!
Montréal doit être bien fière d'un evènement pareil! Et pour cause! :-)

Can't wait to see your pictures
And of course there aren't the same entry restrictions on anyone who is HIV positive coming here that there are in the US. yay to the Out Games!
You've got to tell us more about it and post more pictures.
My understand is that the HIV restrictions were lifted for the Gay Games, snooze.
When did it become a US against THEM, thing?
i didn't know there were 2 organziations; so I learned something today!
I wonder what are the differences to the two, after all, or are they merely coca cola vs. pepsi cola?
Your entry would suggest the games in your neck of the woods are the better.
Hey guys!?
I really don't want to say better or worst here.
Lets just say we were neither black nor white, neither French nor English, neither men nor women..
We are people here to have Olympics for us, gays and all.
We might judge less then others.
So lets just have fun.
Trying to be world citizens is always the finest way to avoid unnecessary differences...
Cosmopolitism is still a wonderous recipe. :-)
Hey Mikell - I believe you're right for the athletes - I was thinking more of attendees. Still, amazing if the policy was changed at all. Maybe that will be a good sign for the future!
